The drink of hunters and scouts

In the mountains of Ghalla, they say a person truly wakes only after the first cup of tirana. Until they drink it, they see only snow—afterward, they begin to see tracks.

Tirana is the Ghallian variety of kir królewski, prepared by hunters and scouts before hunts and night watches. The spaleniec beans were brewed briefly and strongly so the drink would be as quick as a breath in the frost and warm better than fire.

With the addition of robusta, this is the most energizing kir of all. Cocoa and roasted beans dominate the aroma; the taste brings dark chocolate, nuts and a lightly spicy, almost peppery note. Acidity is minimal, the body is heavy, and the finish is dry and very long.
This is a drink of vigilance—the kind after which you hear the forest before the forest hears you.
